Wedding Ceremony
I’m passionate about the story telling aspect of wedding photography and your wedding ceremony will undoubtedly be an emotional highlight of the day. I love to capture those precious and real moments as you arrive, see each other for the first time and make your vows. I always arrive in plenty of time before the wedding ceremony so that I’m able to photograph the build up, the excitement of the guests arriving and the sense of atmosphere. As a documentary photographer I love how these photographs build the narrative of your day.
I also use this time before the ceremony to have a little chat with the vicar or registrar to understand their requirements for the ceremony. Its important to me to be as discreet and unobtrusive.
While you’re focusing on one another and the promises you make, I’ll also be capturing what is going on around you. Unobtrusively I’ll be photographing your proud parents, beautiful bridesmaids and the small children doing what they do best in the background! Once the ceremony is over, a real highlight for me is photographing the genuine emotion as your guests congratulate you both. Big hugs, confetti, cheers of celebration – the time straight after the ceremony often brings some of my favourite, totally natural, unposed images.
